This piece was an attempt at the 2024 penguin book cover award. For this particular design i was heavily influenced by the 1970’s poster designs for artists like Fleetwood Mac and Kate bush. The character illustrations themselves take inspiration from the recently adapted show from Amazon Prime. A lot of the design choices were intentionally psychadelic with a grunge twist as to give the work a more of a unique look as to not take too much direct inspiration from the 70s posters.
